Honoring Their Sacrifice: Using EFT with Military Clients with Greg Cheney, PhD, LMFT, LCMHC
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a powerful tool to make sense of how military Service Members can be extremely capable and successful in their profession yet struggle to connect in their most important relationships.
Objectives*
Understand the mindset of “the protector." Understand the complexity of cultures within culture in the military and how EFT helps to gain an understanding of this culture. Understand how to use EFT with military clients by honoring their adaptive behavior that enables competence in their dangerous profession. Identify how EFT leverages attachment science to understand common military struggles of relationship disconnection, combat trauma, traumatic brain injury, moral injury, and addiction. Reflect on the self of the therapist and personal capacity for working with the military and first responders.
This CEU is free for our current members (you can join here) or $25 for non-members (which can be purchased here).
